Egarosindur is one of the most historically celebrated medieval archaeological sites in central Bangladesh, located on the eastern bank of the Old Brahmaputra River in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Egarosindur was a fortified capital of the independent Baro-Bhuiyan leader Isa Khan, who famously fought and defeated Mughal General Man Singh on the nearby river sandbanks.
The jewel of the site is the historic Sadi Mosque (Sadi Masjid), constructed in 1652 CE (1062 AH) during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan by master craftsman Sadi, son of Shaikh Mahmud. The single-domed square brick mosque is renowned for its splendid terracotta floral ornamentation, curved Bengal-style cornices, and three intricately sculpted archways.
